Legacy of Don Bosco’s passion for the young continues

Ramanthapur Feb. 01: A day long celebrations of Don Bosco feast on 31st January 2016 went on with pomp at Don Bosco Navajeevan Rehabilitation Center, Ramanthapur. It was indeed a spectacular celebration that witnessed love of youngsters to Don Bosco as a tribute to him on the occasion of his feast. At the dawn of the day celebrations began with holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Raminedi Balaraju, Provincial.

DBNJ community was privileged to have Fr. Provincial with us on this auspicious day as it was his last day in the office as Provincial. Thus it added solemnity to our celebrations of our father and founders with his lively sermon on Dreams of   Don Bosco.  As sign of our gratitude to him community members felicitated him for his support and encouragement to DBNJ Community last 6 years.

As it was pre planned in the community under the guidance of Bro Castilino Vincent to celebrate feast of Don Bosco as OPEN HOUSE CELEBRATIONS at Ramanthapur campus. Though it is a new concept for many but our children could attract many of the parents of their classmates, neighbours, co-operators, benefactors, Past Pupils and well wishers who were amused and happy to know the number of services offered by DBNJ homes in twin cities (Hyderabad and Secunderabad). Many of the guests were attracted   by the handicrafts prepared by our children. Guests were also accompanied by our children for a guided tour of our workshop, Bakery, Childline office and Printing press. As part of the programme Bro Justin also prepared a small documentary of the Ramanthapur activities and it was also screened for the visitors.

In the afternoon about 35 past pupils gathered at DBNJ, Ramantahapur premises and had a sharing of their happy memories  as old students and as well. In the second half Fr Sudhakar, Director also joined them in their sharing and brought to the notice of the director some of the difficulties faced by some of the past pupils. He assured them that he was willing to give full cooperation as long as they fall under the rules and regulations of the DBNJ system.

The memorable part of the celebrations of day started in the evening at about 5.30 pm as a homage to Don Bosco with cultural programmes  for which the campus was filled with all our children from our four homes as well as invited guests from locality and DBNJ Staff f with their families. It was certainly a colourful evening.  Fr Gnanam, vice Rector of the community welcomed the gathering and initiated the evening programme. Well prepared cultural programme staged from all our four centres each center performed better than the other  showing their love to Don Bosco and the creative skit staged by Ramanthapur boys caught to the sight of the audience though it simple but there was lot of message to convey. And the message was where in  DON BOSCO comes to rescue the youngster who falls prey to the worldly attractions of the present times and how he transforms them by his approach of loving kindness.

Fr. Sudhakar the Director of the DBNJ, congratulated every one for being the part of Navajeevan family and recalled new initiatives launched this year, namely, Childline and Home for he girls at Hayathnagar. He also said that let our life be a lit candle so that we can light those who are distress and difficulty and living in darkness by with no hope. Let continue to be the HOPE for the Hopeless as our father and founder Don Bosco did in his times.

It was the banquet of love which brought everyone together  like a family to relish the sumptuous meals prepared with typical Hydrabad spicy type  and it was lovely time for our foreign volunteers  along with  locals to treat taste buds. We Congratulate Bro Castilino, Fr Ramesh and Brothers who took lot of care for the success of the programme.
