TRAINING PROGRAMME ON CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
DBPSS, Haythnagar, Nov. 03: Every organization working for children should have their own “Child Protection Policy” based on UNCRC for the welfare of children at risk. In this regard, Don Bosco Navajeevan has developed its own policy based on the National Young at Risk Child Protection Policy for the welfare of street children and young at risk in regional language Telugu. Among the centres of Don Bosco Navajeevan, Ramanthapur centre staff already attended the training in the month of August 2015. Fr. Sudhakar, Director has arranged presentation of child protection policy for the staff of New Bhoiguda, Nampally and Haythnagar at Don Bosco Prem Seva Sadan, a home for Girls, Haythnagar.
On 3rd of November, 2015, Fr. T D John has prepared a schedule for the training programme for all the staff who has not attended earlier and also the senior girls in our from our home Don Bosco Prem Seva Sadam. There were altogether 32 staff members and 6 girls attended the training.
Fr. T D John has divided different topics of Policy and given to some of the staff members to take sessions. The training was done in Telugu medium so that everybody can understand. The programme started at 10. 30am with a prayer song by Girls at DBPSS. The first session was taken by Fr. Sudhakar and gave an introduction about Child Protection Policy and its Vision. Later the sessions were taken by Mr. Raja Reddy, Sr. Victoria, Fr. T D John, Mrs. Rojamani, Mrs. Annamani, Mr. Vasu, and Mrs. Sumathi. The training programme was designed in way to complete all the topics in policy in one day. It was successful and members were happy and expressed their feedback saying that they have understood the policy and to deal with children. Now they are aware about policy and its guidelines. All have thanked Bro. Castilino for arranging food and snacks and thanked Sr. Valsa for great hospitality at DBPSS. The training programme concluded at 6pm.
