Ramanthapur / Hayathnagar / Nampally, May 12: It’s the tradition of hosting a summer camp every year in the month of May for all the children of Don Bosco Navajeevan homes in Twin Cities. This year’s Summer camp inaugurated on 2ndMay 2016 with the 130 children who are bubbling with life. Similarly we also have separate summer camps for girls and boys who are blow 10 year at Don Bosco Prem seva Sadan (DBPSS), Hayathnagar and Don Bosco Navajeevan, Nampally, Respective. We have 35 girls at DBPSS and 20 boys at Nampally. The camps were inaugurated by Fr Thathireddy Vijay Bhaskar, Salesian Provincial at DBPSS in the presence of Genpact representatives and Fr Arul Das BSK, Director at Don Bosco Navajeevan, Ramanthapur.
Fr Provincial also blessed New Computer lab and Tailoring centre at girls home. We thank Genpact who supported this project. Ms Jasmine, Assistant Vice President of Genpact inaugurated by cutting the ribbon. She was accompanied by Mr Radha Krishna and Mr Adrian who are representing for Genpact Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). During short cultural programme Fr Provincial thanked the Genpact for supporting DBNJ. While interacting with the children, Provincial encouraged them to make use of the opportunities provided them to have better future. He also in advance invited them for the silver jubilee celebrations of the province which will take place in the month of November 2016. Our Children honoured the guests with the shawls. a Prior to it Fr Sudhakar Bellamkonda, Director of Don Bosco Navajeevan homes, explained the progress of the DBPSS home in last one year and future plans for the home. He also thanked Genpact representatives for supporting DBNJ technical school, Ramanthapur 3 years. Through their support we equipped with new machines in Welding, Carpentry, Bakery, Tailoring, Electricals and Printing Press. During this one month camp we will be training girls in Spoken English, Tailoring, Computers and Dance.
The camp at Don Bosco Navajeevan, Ramanthapur was inaugurated by Fr. Arul Das the Director of BSK, the chief guest of the day. He gave inspiring message quoting the words of late APJ Kalam, which triggered the hearts of children. “all of us don’t have equal talents but all of us have equal opportunities to develop our talents”. He continued saying that Children in Navajeevan are most fortunate to have these many opportunities to develop their talents than anybody else from outside. He wished all best to the children and to the staff who are conducting the camp. Prior to it they began with the lighting of the lamp invoking the presence of the God. Fr Gnanam Workshop manager and Bro Castilino Vincent, Administrator, Ms Anna Padres and Mr Jakob volunteers from Spain and Germany respectively present for the inaugural programme and light of the lamp. They also had short cultural programme.
Fr. Ramesh, chief of the camp, divided children into four groups and gave them the instructions on how they will be spending their time one month with various activities and events. He also told them that there is time for everything and this the time to Develop and bring out their talents for life. The summer camp schedule is sandwiched with self developmental activities coupled with the fun and enjoyment picnics and educational visits, which would evolve the children to reach up to their dreamed goals. Brothers, teachers and volunteers have been chalking the month of activities to make it more lively.
The cream part of the Camp activities centred around - Spoken English, computer, Dance and Music Classes and coaching in games. Interestingly second part of the day is becoming lively because of the interest of the children show on learning of extracurricular activities.
