It is Christmas time @ DBNJ

Ramanthapur, Hyderabad Dec. 23: Christmas is a wonderful time of the year when we celebrate faith, family and the tradition of giving the gifts and wishing one another. On 22nd December 2016 all the staff and children from four Don Bosco Navajeevan Homes in twin cities gathering to celebrate Semi Christmas at Don Bosco Rehabilitation Centre, Ramanthapur. Our Christmas celebrations started with the preparation of crib and star which brought ambience of festive mood in the hearts of everyone who are connected to DBNJ.

Roy L. Smith rightly said “he, who will not find Christmas in his heart, will not find either under a tree.” It was indeed very much true in our cases too, we prepared not only crib, stars and external decorations but festive journey carried on equally by preparing our hearts and other material things which boosted us all to look forward to plunge in to the Christmas carnival.

After the meaningful celebration of Holy Eucharist, which went on with   utmost devotion, Children sang the lullabies for baby Jesus in the form  Carole singing and various events on the Christmas theme, the skit  put up by Nampally boys on the birth of Child Jesus  captured the attention and  all cheered aloud with echo’s of joy.

Fr.Sudhakar the director of DBNJ in his message said: like a kite allow yourself to fly high in the world of  winds, but don’t hold back yourself with lot of fears  like pulling of thread of the kite, as the thread and wind takes the kits to its heights, same way allow yourself to hold by God ( elders) to reach to the peaks of your goals.

During the time of Christmas children look forward to receive the gifts from the Santha Claus, to make their dreams to realize, community members handed over one pair of colourful dress each, to all the children which made them to walk on clouds of happiness. DBNJ staff too are given a gift as token of appreciation to their dedicated service towards this institution. When we are dependent on God, he knows what he gives us. On the day of Christmas God sent his instruments as generous benefactors who showed their love and compassion in the form of surprising gifts and fellowship meals.

It’s the Christmas cakes which, adds the flavour to the celebrations, and Br. Vincent Castilino made sure all the arrangements in treating the children with delicious meals along with special tastiest cakes prepared with the help of Mr. Kishore and children in the Bakery and Mr. Pears from Netherland joined them to giving a helping hand to them.

Master Sagar one of the newly joined boy this year, studying class 7, says: first time in his life taking part in the celebrations of Christmas which brought him amazing feelings of WOW  to treasure in his heart for his life time.

CRIB, CARDS, CAKES, STARS and GIFTS are the memorable  things of Happy ending of great Feast of CHRISTMAS.
