Secunderabad Jan. 17: Ms Smitha Jane Xavier, is a Master of Business Administration (MBA) student from Xavier Institute of Management and Enterpreneurship (XIME), Bangalore. She joined as a volunteer just for three weeks commenced from 29th December 2014 to 17th January 2015. She shares her experience being part of Don Bosco Navajeevan homes in twin cities i.e., Hyderabad and Secunderbad.
This is what she expresses;
Even though my experience at Don Bosco Navajeevan was just a brief 3 weeks, I am taking a lot back with me. It was indeed a privilege to be a part of a social cause. My experience has increased my level of patience and helped me observe how happiness can be found even in the most challenging situations. After facing rejection at home, or losing all they held dear, most of the children that come here are looking for a sense of belonging, or a place to call home, and that is exactly what Don Bosco Navajeevan gives them. I highly appreciate this initiative. My desire to work for a social cause has only grown stronger.
Not just taking care of the temporary needs of the children, Don Bosco has done a great deal in making sure that the children are able to make their own livelihood, once they grow up. This fruit of their labor is evident in a few of its ‘fruits’, that I interacted with.
It has also made me more grateful to God for all the blessings He has given me, so that I can be a blessing to others. I thank Don Bosco Navajeevan for giving me this opportunity.
