SUMMER CAMP SUMBARALU in DBNJ Homes

Ramanthapur May 01: 4th Annual Summer Sambaralu camp 2017 was kicked off on 1st of May 2017 in 3 DBNJ homes, namely, Ramathapur, Nampally and Hayathanagar. Fr B. Rayappa administrator of the community and camp chief organized the programmes at DBNJ Rehabilitation Centre, Ramanthapur for the boys, Sr Cyril In-charge of the girls home at Don Bosco Prem Seva Sadan, Hayathanagar organized the inaugural programme and Sr. Victoria In-charge of the DBNJ, Nampally organized the programme.

Prior to it we had two preparatory planning meetings with the brothers, sisters, volunteers and others who are involved for the summer camp. The Responsibilities were shared among the available staff for the summer camp. We have decided that brothers who will be coming from Don Bsoco Philosophate will remain at DBNJ Ramanthapur to help in the summer camp, Ms Sarah and Ms Eva, volunteers from Germany will help in the summer camp at our girls home Hayathnagar and Mr Mats and Ms. Brenda will help at DBNJ, Nampally Camp.

Inauguration of the summer camp started on high note of enthusiasm at Don Bosco Navajeevan, Ramanthapur. As it has been customary of the house to host summer camp for the school children to help them to brush up their talents and skills.

DBNJ has been regular in conducting the camps every year and this year too had its specialty having the children not only from our centers but also opened the doors of invitation even for others too. As chief guest for the inauguration of the camp Ms. Jaya well-wisher of the DBNJ Homes from Kurnool was present along with her girl children. The inaugural ceremony began invoking the blessings of the God with a Hymn. After the lighting of the lamp Fr. Rayappa the camp chief and administrator of the house welcomed the guests and children of the camp. He assured saying that they are going to have loads of fun after the hectic academic classes.

The chief guest of the day Ms. Jaya said in her message that all the children present here are fortunate to be part of Don Bosco family. Secondly she said that they are they are lucky once again to have the great chance of attending the summer camp which they never got in  their life time, all though they had a passion to learn. She urged the children to pay attention in THREE things. First one is to open up their eyes for the ample of opportunities provided here. At Don Bosco, secondly it is high time sharpen once own talents, and thirdly to think they are equal worth of diamonds, because their inner abilities are greater than any valuable thing on earth.

After the inauguration boys are divided in to four groups for the convenience of the activities and for the interpersonal relations.

Brothers read out the time table which constituted with fun frolic activities like Yoga, spoken English, Computer, Music and games.  All these are so meticulously sandwiched such way that children get improved in Language speaking, building the talents and mastering the skills in various activities.  Apart from the daily activities there are picnics and educational tours are planned with in the city for the children to get acquainted in various fields of knowledge.

Finally chief guest together with the camp chief declared opened the summer camp with victory sign saying all the best to the children.

SUMMER SAMBARALU @ Hayathnagar 2017

Hayathanagar May 01: Following activities were planned during the summer exclusively for the girls’ children, namely, Spoken English, Computer Training, Communication Skills, Crafting & Tailoring, Games, Yoga and outings on weekends. Sr. Cyril, In-charge of the home welcomed Mr Rajeev, Director of Sudheer Foundation and Ms Sarah & Ms. Eva along with other staff for the inauguration of the summer camp at DBPSS, Hayathnagar. The summer camp opened to others. There are also 10 girls were send by Good Shepard Sister, Khamman.

The camp commenced with prayer dance followed by inviting the dignitaries on to the Dias. Sr. Cyril introduced to the students the purpose of the camp and certain rules. Ms. Eva & Sarah had given message on the importance of the camp and their purpose of being with the students. They also distributed pens to the students. Mr. Rajeev Chief guest of the day motivated everyone to participate actively in the summer camp and make use of time well. He also briefed about helping each other and especially helping the slow learners. He wished every one for the success of the summer camp.

Sr. Cyril thanked all for gracing the occasion by their solemn presence. She also thanked the Director of the DBPSS Rev. Fr. Sudhakar under whose guidence and inspirational thoughts that this camp is conducted. Children also in turn thanked the Director for the opportunities provided them to equip knowledge and skills for the future currier.

The camp was concluded on 30th May 2017 for which we had the presence of Fr. Y. Joji, Vice Provincial of the province of Salesian Province of Hyderabad. In his message he illustrated the life of Don Bosco especially struggles that he went through as a child. He said that he is our model and inspiration. Fr Sudhakar, Director also thanked Fr Joji, Sr. Cyril, Volunteers and staff who have sacrificed their time and energy for these children. The programme was concluded with distribution of the Certificates.
